Also, are you saying your printer is connected via a parallel port?
Both a parallel port and a USB port. It works really poorly
on the USB port (it's an old printer). I need it to work again
on the parallel port.
It may have been lost, but the parallel port does work on
a fedora 29 flash drive. Well, it did until I ran my updates
