Hi all,
After an update to Fedora29 I can print but not scan anymore with a HP
officejet 4620 in WLAN.
When running HP-check I get two messages : cups required incompat :
cups
may nt be installed or running .
cups is installed and
running.
python3-notify2 needs to be
installed : Question where can I "find it"
Has anyone the same experience ?
Obvious question: have you installed the hplip package?
Well, hp-check is part of the hplip-gui package so I'd guess the answer
is "yes".
Oke Ed I agree.
FWIW, I get a whole bunch of "errors" running hp-check including those
above and scanning
works.
Oke Ed I agree : But I can nowhere find python3-notify2 . All sorts of
python3 etc etc but even with "rpm find" no python3-notify2 . Next
question is of course what does this lib do and is it really needed ?
I get this as part of the output. My printer is connected on the LAN.
------------------------------
| DISCOVERED SCANNER DEVICES |
------------------------------
device `hpaio:/net/HP_OfficeJet_Pro_8710?hostname=hp' is a
Hewlett-Packard
HP_OfficeJet_Pro_8710 all-in-one
When connected with an USB cable I get device 4l:/dev/video is a noname
integrated laptop webcam HD etc.
and device hpaio:/dev/usb/officejet
4620 series?serial=CN31F241NZ05RT is a HewlettPackard Officejet 4620
series all in one .
So when connected with an USB cable prting and scanning goes fine .
When connected on WLAN the camera of the laptop is discovered but the
HP4620 not : Therefore the scanfunction , this is evident does not
functionate .
All is clear but how can I find a solution for this problem ?--
