The trackballs like the Logitech M570 are pretty easy to press and drag. Some of the ones with the ball in the middle are a lot harder to drag with. I use an ancient wired usb trackman marble with a scroll wheel and a retainer that prevents the ball from running away that is around 20 years old and still going strong. A number of the new ones don't have the ball retainer and on some of them the ball falls out and runs away if you have it turn over for some reason.
