Hi,
I copy many films (i.e. 30GB at once) to a ntfs formatted disk. 1 or 2 or more films of them end with input/output error. A repeated copy of the unsuccessful copied film into the same file folder ends also with input/output error, changing the name of this film still ends with input/output error. Copying into an other folder of the same external disk is successful. Does anyone know how to get around? Is there a tool to display the entries of files in a ntfs folder? Possibly I would have to remove a bit, which says "no copy - input/output error" for this film.
I copy with the file tools of Gnome, F28/F29. Copying with Win8.1, there no problem occurs, but it's about 30% slower then doing it wit F28 or F29.
My configuration: The original films are on the internal Laptop disk (ntfs)(win 8.1). The system is run by Fedora on an USB 3.0 Stick. The films are copied or moved from the Laptop internal disk to an external ntfs formatted disk via F28 or F29.
Kind regards
