Desktop covers panel -

.
This is a new install of Fedora 29 originally installed as the beta version. It seems to do much of what I need without problems except for a vertical panel on the left edge being about half covered by the desktop. I use XFCE and turned the initial setting of the row size up from 48 to 70 however that makes no difference. The horizontal panels at the top and bottom can be set and display as expected.

I've gone through the Settings  GUI's without success bit really bot knowing what to look for. Perhaps someone can suggest a fix?
