Yes, I generally prefer to use "startxfce4."
Sorry about the misspelling and here are the results on this Fedora 27
system:
Unit dmlight.service could not be found.
[bobg@Box10 ~]$ systemctl status lightdm
● lightdm.service - Light Display Manager
Loaded: loaded (/usr/lib/systemd/system/lightdm.service; disabled;
vendor preset: disabled)
Active: inactive (dead)
Docs: man:lightdm(1)
[bobg@Box10 ~]$ systemctl status gdm
Unit gdm.service could not be found.
And gdm is not enabled.
