Hi All, Fedora 28, x64 Xfce 4.12 Firefox 61.0.2 I have a customer I just installed Fedora Core 28 on. He can not watch Foxnews.com videos, but can watch videos everywhere else. And my machine, also FC28 and Xfve 4.12, Foxnews.com works perfectly. I can't figure out what is different. How to troubleshoot his?
Here: Firefox 61.02 F27 Linux 4.18.7 (non-official kernel) I have that, too, since a few months. Mostly, IIRC, after updating FF, and on youtube: Video works, but sound is off: So far restarting FF - sometimes more than once - helped. If that does not help: 1: Ad or script blocker enabled? 2: I'd then check permissions for a site if something doesn't work: Right-clicking the page: opening "Page info", then "Permissions" for it (e.g.: Flash blocked?) 2: There seems to be a problem with hardware accelaration on FF since some time - Switching that off, I read, might help: -- Go to Preferences, Select the "General" panel: -- On "Peformance" uncheck "Use recommended performance settings" -- Now new settings options will show up: on these -- uncheck "Use hardware acceleration when available". from: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1206076 https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1200717 The problem seems to exist for both video with sound switched off, and no video at all.
