Thanks, you're of course right, and I'm an idiot who *still* can't get
the yum->dnf thing sorted out (d'oh).
That said, I wonder: how old is my F28 box, and how many upgrades has
it been through, that it still has a bunch of files in /etc/yum ?
I did a clean install and /etc/yum/ ONLY has protected.d
All the repo files are still in /etc/yum.repo.d
I always do a clean install, but tend to copy too many . directories
from my backup to my personal home.
