That probably means that it's a Java web start, not an embedded Java

Yes the console open in a new windows, not into browser
What is the difference from a Java web start and a embedded Java app.?
Why one is secure and the other not?
web start launches a separate Java process to run the application.
Embedded java runs inside the browser. I don't know if one is more
secure than the other, but the browsers have decided they don't want to
support that plugin API any longer.
