I can't believe it. You all won't believe it. Ok....so I think maybe I'm an idiot. Apparently I installed a FONT that came from KDE package base!!!!! Who knew ONE FONT would have such a "following" of dependencies!?....needless to say?...the font (which I had downloaded to help my niece do a school project) inls now gone.....I did "dnf clean all" and then "dnf update dnf"....and finally "dnf upgrade"....and there's No trace of a KDE based ANYTHING on my system?!...will stick to the Gnome fonts and not do any random ninsyapls ever again!!!

THAT'S the question. I ALWAYS "watch" my updates....(a throwback from a different time in my life when I used to "scan" every downloadable/executable for the sneaky little checkboxes that wanted to install all manner of toolbars!) and to my knowledge?...I have never installed anything that had KDE dependencies!...(As I said...I'm a Gnome purist...I prefer to get most of my apps from the Software Center...and while there might be KDE-centric apps there? I don't use 'em...I'm just not a fan of how KDE renders or the look of their fonts!) So there should be nothing that runs anything KDE on my system...I have the usual suspects:Gnome TweakLibreOfficeVLC Media PlayerRhythmBoxThe usual SELinux / Tools etc.Firefox (and Vivaldi)GeditThe Fedora USB Writing/Burning program. And CodeBlocks (because I'm trying to learn C++....don't know why?....maybe I'm a glutton for punishment?...LoL!)And also Ninja-IDE (Yep. I'm a glutton as I'm ALSO trying to learn Python as well!)Other than that? I don't have anything KDE-related. I guess I will first check some logs and make sure nothing installed without my knowledge or without my permission, (which shouldn't happen with Fedora Linux!) and then deep dive into everything I have. I'm sure I'll be able to find whatever it is..and REMOVE it. Thanks for all the advice and suggestions...I'll keep you all posted!Cheers!EGO IIOn Thu, May 24, 2018 at 5:37 PM Mike Chambers <mikec302@xxxxxxxxx> wrote:On Thu, 2018-05-24 at 07:46 -0700, fred roller wrote:

If he was fully updated, up to the point of the time/date he ran the
update, and he didn't have any (or at least not that he noticed) KDE
programs before, then why now all of a sudden? Did they get installed
prior due to dependencies and he didn't realize it? Or did something
in the latest update change and called the programs in?
