Thanks, Matthew. Yes, the mouse was working properly, but suddenly it stopped working fine. The application where the file is open is MS Word. My idea was to send a command to VirtualBox to save the state and then poweroff the guest virtual machine. I have tried VManage controlvm "my machine name" savestate but, surprisingly, it says that there is no virtual machine running...
