Pins are nothing without a UART.
I'm not sure what you mean by this. Some motherboards provide the pin
clusters connected to the onboard UARTS, but not the 9-pin socket that
mounts on the outside. You can get those from various places. I'm sure
I could find several in my collection of older equipment.
