Used new USB flash medium for F27, now it's ok - Hardware, You are right. The old stick became  too slow by the time, by using it for operating systems, which is not recommended by Sandisk.

I was able to burn a 1.3GB mp4 file without issue including checksum at the end. Could be a hardware specific issue.
