Exactly. OK then at that point the X-server is functioning normally. Would it be possible to do the following? 1. Reboot the system to get to the login screen. 2. From a second system, ssh into the failing system, become root, and "tail -f /var/log/Xorg.0.log" to see what was last entered. 3. Login from the GUI on failing system and then check the tail to see if the "AIGLX: Suspending AIGLX clients for VT switch" appears at that point. -- A motto of mine is: When in doubt, try it out
