used, and is not the same as STANDBY, so I would interpret this to mean
that it has not been spun down. If that's the case then your problem
may be elsewhere. You might try testing again with the disk unmounted
(so the dialogue doesn't attempt to open it).

Ok.. that makes sense. After reading your reply I opened Dolphin.. double clicking on that drive took over 15 seconds to open. Nautilus took over 25! And checking, like I said I would like two days ago.. this drive is formatted as NTFS still.
