A good suggestion, since it appears from the installation log, at
that a whole lot of stuff was missing from my installation (odd since it's fairly new
and installed as a normal upgrade from the web). However the logout/login screen
is still the same and still weird, as shown in my original posting.
One possible issue is that I normally use apper to check for updates, etc. and that
apper's backend, which is packagekit seems to use a database different in at least some aspects
from the one used by dnf.
