One other thing.

You can boot the Live image and see if "parted" is included and see if you can
manually partition the drive successfully.




Have not tried to partition the drive other than the installer on that laptop. As it is old, we pulled the drive today and did some other work on the laptop. Until we get a new BIOS battery into the machine, it is on hold. Will test as soon as the battery is replace.
