Is there an option in > the XFCE touchpad configuration to toggle tap-to-click? I filed a bug and got a quick response. The solution to the problem is in the bug report [1]. It's a matter of setting an option so that libinput obeys the hardware "buttons" on the touchpad instead of using soft buttons.
