I have an HP color laser writer/scanner that I connect to via wireless. I find that it becomes unusable if I don't use it after awhile. I went over to the room where the scanner is and noticed that it worked great until the power saving feature turned on. My problem is that my linux box can talk fine to the printer, but cannot wake it up once it's gone into that powersaver mode. If I power cycle the printer or do something else to wake it up, then it can talk to my linux box until it is quiet for a few minutes. When I boot in Windows, this isn't a problem.
