I don't use KDE, so things may be different. In Xfce, however, I'd right-click on the panel and go to Panel, Add New Items. If you've actually removed it, it should be back in the list of applets. Or, if there's a gap on the panel where it belongs, try right-clicking on it because I've had the icons go away a few times while the program's still there. (Usually it's Orage that does this, but it could be any applet.)
