I thank you for that page, you certainly
got better results than I did with
Newegg search.
However what I need and haven't
determined from anything listed there,
is a simple adapter or a cable with a
male connector to fit the USB3 ports on
the back of the MSI [H81M-E34]
motherboard and a typical USB2 female
connector at the other end so that the
ports are usable. Before I bought this
board all the USB3 ports I have accepted
the common USB2 cables, thumb drives,
etc. These connectors are about the same
size but don't accept anything I have.
I am looking for the term to describe
that connector so I can search for an
adapter. The manual does not mention the
connector type, just the four USB3.0.
ports. In those pictures I see some
cables that might extend the existing
ports but I need them also converted to
the common connector. I was ordering
some other things and thought I would
try to fill that need ... I can continue
on without the use of those ports, it's
not a panic, just an annoyance.

I have an MSI motherboard with USB3
connectors on the back panel that I
have never been able to use because
the connectors are different and
nothing I have fits them. They are
similar to the usual USB 2 connectors
but have a blue insert. I would like
to order adapter cables, whatever but
a lot of googling hasn't helped ...
I've looked for this before without
success.
Can anyone help me with the proper
terminology to order something that fits?
