I haven't done this kind of thing in a while, but I would use fdisk to remove the partitions. I think there is a newer partition tool now that has more bells and whistles, maybe someone will suggest it. I vaguely recall removing partitions in anaconda, but that might have been an older anaconda. It's been pretty extensively rewritten.
