All;

I've installed vmware workstation on Fedora 25, now when I try to update vmware tools I get a gui that fails with:

There was a problem updating a software component. Try again later and if the problem persists, contact VMware Support or your system administrator

I want to just doit the old way but I dont have a choice whn I click VM  --> Install vmwre tools

I saw a post awhile back that indicated a package to install via dnf and it was solved however I cannot find it and the search on the fedora list site seems to be broken - I cannot go past the first page of results

Anyone know what the fx is to get vmware to simply mount the tools as a cd when I choose VM -> install vmware tools ?

Thanks in advance
