My guess is that dnf itself is wanting to install it: $ rpm -q --whatrecommends bash-completion python3-dnf-1.1.10-2.fc24.noarch python2-dnf-1.1.10-2.fc24.noarch It doesn't *need* it, but apparently the packager thinks dnf is easier to use with it installed which seems a bit arbitary. I could understand the bash package doing that, but a supplemental package that enables you to use Python scripts with a program to avoid having to type in the first place???
