Of course. They're basically auto mechanics who know how to
install/replace audio systems in cars. They don't know anything about
how they work or anything about repairing them. What else did you expect?
They seemed to know quite a bit about the existing technology of car
audio/video players.
They simply had never heard about players for audio-only DVD media.
