NEVER say it's "trivial". Engineering criterium #7 clearly states:

	Build no mechanism simply if a way can be found to make it
	complex and wonderful. This also justifies your existence and
	paycheck.

Phelps' corollary to that states:

	If it was easy, everyone would do it.
