I did create a local folder of greater than 4.5GB and TB had no issues to read it. You just couldn't add more messages to the folder. As one can see from the bugzilla, this issue is targeted for fix in TB 51. So, it will take some more time it seems before a fix is in the released product. Probably determined to be a minor issue as not many folks have folders that large.
