I hadn't thought about just draggings the screens. I have also managed to get the task bar on the correct screen by editing .config/plasma-org.kde.plasma.desktop-appletsrc changing lastScreen=1 to lastScreen=0 I am now happy with my config but if I need to fix it in future I'll do as you suggest.
