remote X terminal screen locks on, then I could not login any more into
my session. I had to kill it from another session.

straight login). I could test
this variable through a .bashrc and decide to active or not the
screen lock.
It looks like some thing which makes sense to me.

That is strange. I've been doing remote access to my work desktop for years and don't have a problem with the lock screen. There was a period of time a couple of years ago where I would sometimes have to restart gnome-shell to be able to get back in, but I don't think it was specific to remote access. I think it was something to do with me switching to single screen from dual screen before leaving. I haven't had any issues with it for a long time.
