Is there a way to install this from Linux? Nope, Samsung does the same thing with their SSD drives. You can only update their firmware from windows as well. I've seen some stuff about ways to create a Windows live CD or USB, but never tried it (instead I check before I buy and don't buy any hardware that requires windows for things like firmware updates :-).
