All this sort of depends on what you all mean by "gnome packages" because the gnome folks maintain a lot of base packages that many other things depend on. ie, Xfce wouldn't exist without gtk2, xfce4-power-manager requires upower, etc. In any case it's up to you what you want installed. kevin
