The first thing I ever did in You clearly haven't even looked what it was doing. Prelink during prelinking chose some addresses (with randomization, so different boxes used different addresses), and then the libraries would be always (if possible) loaded at the suggested addresses, until next reprelinking, which then chose another set of random addresses. Kernel only randomizes mmap that has NULL virtual address.
