Actually, I don't know that. I was of the understanding that fsck is
not done on automounted devices, since I've never been aware of it
running on them (no lengthy delays), and have seen repeated warnings in
logs (later on) that fsck needs to be run on some devices that have been
plugged in. The automounter has been happy enough to mount devices with
problems on them, for me, though that may well depend on the kind of
file system fault.
I stand corrected. You are right.
