Iwith nVidia they both worked well with native 2560x1440 resolution. After switching to
nouveau in F23 the max resolution is 1920x1080. 2560x1440 isn't even shown in the output
of xrandr.
Resolution 1920x1080 is maximum resolution @60 Hz for HDMI 1.4 port. Higher resolutions are at refresh rates 30-24. So, unless you have a new computer with HDMI 2.0, check refresh rate settings.
