Or maybe you have a rare card, I know > that *somebody* here mentioned that. Negativo17.org was giving me problems (bad packaging) so I disabled it several days ago. The problem with the Nvidia 340 series drivers is that they doesn't support X11 version 18, so I currently block X from updating. The latest kernel boots but maybe it doesn't work with a slightly older version of X. Seems odd but it's all I can think of.
