I haven't switched to 23 yet, but I'll second that bit about choosing the right display manager as far as some previous releases go. I used to play around with different desktops, and I found a significant difference is tiny bugs and performance when the right display manager was matched with the right desktop environment.
... though I have *never* gotten Enlightenment to work right in Fedora.
