If that is true then updating grub should find and enable you to boot windows I believe.

I have not looked into this since W7 but if you wanted to the Windows boot loader can be used to boot other operating systems such as Linux.

i believe the linux is UEFI. Windows disk is not locked . And what do you mean by "boot to Linux from windows "?
