Just out of random sanity checking, is there a single device

the point of this?
Well, since NF means "Near Field" with a range of 10cm I could understand the point.
There are more an more work in the IoT arena for NFC in
sensors/readers. Instead of communicating in 'simple' NFC
communications, there is work to put IP stacks in these devices to
communicate to those bigger devices (like notebooks and phones) that
have other interfaces.
In IoT, there is concern about cost, and power is a big factor in that
cost equation. WiFi still takes a lot of power (see the ESP8266), IEEE
802.11ah MAY reduce that power demand some, but not as low as other RF
technologies. Thus WiFi does not rule in IoT.
