Allegedly, on or about 19 October 2015, CS DBA sent: > Might the higher res screen fix my washed out screen issues? That may well depend on what *you* mean by "washed out." To me, looking at some people's computers with the LCD screen running at the wrong resolution, they look "blurred and smudgy." LCDs only work well at one resolution, 1:1 driving of screen pixels with graphics card pixels. A 2:1 (half resolution) can work, but some displays smooth out the edges of everything into a smudge, rather than simply show two pixels instead of one. "Washed out" would be how I'd describe someone's monitor where they've jacked the brightness up too high, or the gamma (if they've tweaked with graphics card settings). -- [tim@localhost ~]$ uname -rsvp Linux 3.9.10-100.fc17.x86_64 #1 SMP Sun Jul 14 01:31:27 UTC 2013 x86_64 All mail to my mailbox is automatically deleted, there is no point trying to privately email me, I will only read messages posted to the public lists.
