Actually, when I open xmgrace with data, the CPU is going to:
root      1201 16.9  5.2 693156 160928 tty1    Rsl+ Sep27 147:51 /usr/libexec/Xorg.bin :0 -background none -noreset -verbose 3 -logfile /dev/null -auth /run/gdm/auth-for-gdm-93DsYu/database -seat seat0 -nolisten tcp vt1

This slows down the machine for other tasks.
