One thing I would first try is to switch from using gdm to sddm
sudo systemctl --force enable sddm
and then reboot.
Hmm, if I do that I get random hangs/lockups slightly after the graphic
"f" disappears. I never get to a greeter.
I ran an update on the system, and now everything works as supposed. A
bit sluggish though.
