Try adding GDK_CORE_DEVICE_EVENTS=1 alias gedit='GDK_CORE_DEVICE_EVENTS=1;gedit -s' If I knew how to set GDK_CORE_DEVICE_EVENTS=1 at login so it was inherited by all processes I would!?
