Hi,

Updateinfo file is not valid XML: <open file
'/var/cache/yum/x86_64/20/updates/gen/updateinfo.xml', mode 'rt' at
0x11d1540>

I've seen references to this error when searching, but it mostly relates
to a bug from 2012.

The file exists, and looks like XML, but there must be something wrong
with yum's ability to parse it...

Thanks for any ideas,

Nobody has replied yet, so I will toss this in...

If you have not yet tried:

#yum clean expire-cache

See if that fixes it. You should be able to test with:

#yum update

Harder hammer:

#yum clean all

I forgot about expire-cache, so just did 'clean all' and it still didn't work. yum-cron is a POS, so I just uninstalled it on all the systems anyway. It could never handle connection timeout issues very well, so screw it.

I found one other current report from someone else with no answer, so I'm increasingly thinking it's some kind of real bug.

Thanks,
Alex
