I put "hungarian loadhyph-hu.tex" in language.dat, but that in itself didn't change anything. This is not surprising: as the error message above says, one should rerun initex or texconfig. I tried the latter, and ran again into the missing tlmgr problem. I'm now trying to muscle up the courage to run initex.
