As I only implied, I don't know html. :-) Indeed, when you use "Insert" within T-Bird and use HTML in the body it does use the "cid:" format. So, without adequate knowledge it is impossible to determine where the fault lies. I've seen this sort of problem before when different groups interpreted a standard slightly different.
