One exception is root on Btrfs doesn't require a reformat, but it does require a new subvolume (which are unique fs trees, with their own inode list). And for everyone, there are certainly bugs and some bad design in the installer. This is not intentional but it's inevitable. That's why I translate "more flexibility" into "aha! more bugs!" Every feature has to justify the ensuing madness it'll create. So file bugs, make your case concisely (although verbose how to reproduce steps are best), and feel free to cc me in the bug report. It really isn't likely, or as likely, to get polish without users pointing out the warts. And idea that's been floated for future work is getting blivet-gui created layouts to more or less "plug-in" to Anaconda with minimal user intervention.
