This does not seem much of a problem but I am curious as to why I'm
having this? It seems waiting a while for the kernel to update will
eventually fix things but do I somehow have the wrong version of
virtualbox installed?

You could try using --skip-broken to work around the problem
You could try running: rpm -Va --nofiles --nodigest
