As if merely washing your hands magically solved the problems of handling hazardous materials... I had to laugh at a spool of 60/40 electronics solder, I have, that warns you to wash your hands after using it before eating or smoking. Something tells me that smoking is going to be far worse than the tiny amount of lead wiped across your fingertips. And I seriously doubt many people wash their hands well enough to wipe off half the stuff they get on their fingers at work.
