# poweroff
# systemctl poweroff
# shutdown now
# shutdown --poweroff now
# shutdown -r now
a try on my notebook.
No visible difference. All cause a "shutdown and reboot".

What's your hardware?
The notebook a Lenovo Flex 2-14, the other one is a self-built desktop,
based on an Intel DH87RL Mobo.
