Whether it worked well or not is very relevant here but if a feature is new to the release it is mentioned in the release notes but not if it is a standard default feature and not new to the release. There might be some documentation needed for users who *don't* want tmp to be on /tmpfs. If the standard docs don't cover that, a RFE should be filed.
